Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed who was voted in on the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, was in the afternoon of Friday, November 29, granted victory in the 2019 governorship election.
This is as the appeal court in Jos, Plateau, threw out the petition by the All Progressives Congress, APC, against the Governor.
The ruling by the appeal court resulted in celebration in most parts of the state, according to report.
The APC had come to the appeal court with four arguments against the victory of Governor Mohammed and his party.
The appellate court, however, dismissed the entire arguments of the opposition party in the state and its candidate, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar.
In the lead judgement, Justice OA Otisi, said that the grounds filed by the APC lacked merit.
Reacting, Chris Uche, counsel Governor Mohammed, commended the ruling and called it victory for democracy.
