Probably as a result of the death of Tiyamu Kazeem, a Remo Stars Football Club player (popularly known as Kaka) who was allegedly pushed by an officer of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Ogun State from their van onto an oncoming speeding car, Hip-hop singer, Ruggedman has sent an appeal to the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo to please do something about the incessant killing coming from the much dreaded SARS.In his tweet, Ruggedy Baba as he’s fondly called said:
Dear @ProfOsinbajo every week officers of the Nigerian police in Lagos murder innocent Nigerians and cause unrest. Please do not wait until they kill one of your relatives before you take action.
It should be recalled that the excesses of this Anti-robbery Squard have been condemned by Nigerians. At a point Nigerians staged a protest which they tagged #stopSARS. The prolonged protest eventually led to Osinbajo’s order to the Inspector General of Police to “overhaul” the controversial police unit called the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and follow-up directive to the National Human Rights.
