Celebrity Journal Publishers Association of Nigeria (CJPAN) has called for an Independent Monitoring and transparency in administration of Covid-19 Donations from Banks, Corporate Organizations and individuals; while enjoining other wealthy Nigerians to emulate those kind spirited compatriots at this trying times in our nation, by donating not only cash but health equipments as well as upgrading our health facilities in Nigeria.
This was made known in a statement signed by the President of CJPAN, Mr. Joshua Uloko after an emergency meeting on Tuesday.
According to Mr Uloko, the money realized so far should be judiciously utilized to fight the deadly disease, at the same time be of benefit to the victims who are the poor masses.
He reteriated the need for holistic approach to this pandemic regime without forgetting the post COVID-19 economic era.
In the words of the group’s President “COVID-19 TRUST FUND should be established and its membership drawn from the civil society, public/ private health sector and financial institutions”.
He however called on government at all levels to reach out to the very poor and hopeless at this period of social and economic lockdown in the country.
He further appealled to Nigerians to comply with the 14-day stay at home order, “maintain social distancing and follow all the recommended health and safety tips to enable us overcome the global scourge.”
