Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has revealed that he visited the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E. A Adeboye on different occasions in the build-up to his second term re-election.
He revealed that each time he visited the cleric for prayers, he was assured that all will be well and he would emerge victorious.

The Governor made the disclosure on Friday while giving a testimony at the 2020 RCCG Holy Ghost Congress held at the Church’s International Headquarters along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

He said, “When it looked impossible and when men rose, He (God) came out to say that He is God and only He has the power.

“About the time when the crisis started a year ago, I came to the (RCCG) camp with my wife and met Daddy G.O.”

Obaseki as part of the political happenings leading up to his second term election victory during the September 19 Edo State governorship election, dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after he was disqualified from contesting the APC gubernatorial ticket.

The Governor disclosed that he still visited Pastor Adeboye before the election and was assured after prayers that all will be well.

Obaseki said Daddy G.O as he is fondly called by his church members, assured him that, “My son, it is well. Don’t be afraid, you will overcome and you will win.”

“A few months before the election, I came again to see him (Adeboye) and he prayed for me and with me and he said, ‘It will be well.”
