2022: Ekiti PDP Group To Organize Solidarity March For Segun Oni’s Ambition

A leading group in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Ekiti PDP Progressives has said it would organise one million youth solidarity march in support of the governorship ambition of former governor, Chief Segun Oni ahead of the 2022 poll.

To achieve this, the state coordinator of PDP Progressives, Honourable Wale Ayeni will inaugurate the 150-member planning committee next Tuesday.

A chieftain of the group, Engr Rotimi Omoboriowo revealed that the mother of march is scheduled for May 29th 2021, a day for the nation’s democracy day celebration.


Omoboriowo who stated this while speaking to journalists in Ifaki-Ekiti, Ido-Osi local government area of Ekiti during the visit and declaration of a youth group within Ekiti PDP (E-16) in support of 2022 ambition of former governor Oni.

He noted that the proposed one million youth walk would also attract to the state PDP bigwigs across the country such as former and serving governors, ministers, senators, members of the house of Representatives and other party chieftains.

Speaking on the declaration of E-16 for his aspiration to lead the state again, Chief Oni commended the leadership of the group for the decision, saying that, ” this is a signal that youths of today are now fully ready to take charge of the process that leads to their tomorrow.”

A leader of PDP Progressives group and former House of Assembly member, Honourable Seyi Shittu lauded the youths and encouraged other interest groups in the party to join them in achieving victory for the party during the next year’s election with the former governor as the candidate of the opposition party.

The state coordinator of E-16, Mr Adewumi Fatai declared that they are, ” determined to salvage Ekiti PDP and ensure that PDP produces the next Governor of Ekiti State in 2022.”

He expressed the readiness of the group to embark on a tour of the 16 local government areas to sensitize their members and other delegates to support Oni’s ambition in the interest of the state and the citizens.

On his part, the State Publicity Secretary of E-16, Mr Ajibola Seyi and another leader of the group, Mr Tosin Ajayi declared that the group decision to support Segun Oni’s quest to rule the state again, ” is a collective one and in the best interest of PDP youths.”
