Few hours after attacking and burning down the country home of Goveenor Hope Uzodinma, at Omuma in Oru East local government area of Imo state, a group of yet to be identified gunmen have again struck in Imo state again.
This time the gunmen have reportedly killed two security operatives, which included anfficer of the Nigerian Police Force and an officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC).
The two officers were reportedly captured by the gunmen while they were driving through the town in a private vehicle, the unfortunate incident was said to have occurred around Mbidi Junction.
The two yet to be identified security operatives were reportedly dragged out of their vehicle by the gunmen, after which they were subsequently shot and killed. This separate incident was said to have occurred few hours after heavily armed group of young men attacked the governor’ s house, also killing some security men on duty there before burning down part of the house and destroying several vehicles.
Confirming the incident of the attacks carried out by armed gunmen on the governor’ s residence, the Imo state commissioner for information and strategy, Declan Emelumba revealed that although information about the attack was true, but that the details about the attacks were not yet clear, and they were still obtaining more information.
Mr Declan further went on to confirm that two security men were killed at the governor’ s country home residence, he also revealed that one of them was an officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC).
