It has been confirmed that the twenty-seven students of Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna State, abducted by bandits have been released.

The source noted that the release of the student was facilitated by Islamic cleric, Ahmad Gumi dialogue committee with support from former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

The twenty-seven students released are part of the thirty-seven students that were abducted two months ago.

After payment of ransom by parents and school management, the bandits only released 10 of the victims.

Their abductors had initially demanded an N500 million ransom from the Kaduna State Government but Governor Nasir El-Rufai ruled out the option of negotiation, saying bandits deserve to be killed.
