Speaking on Saturday at the annual June 12 commemoration anniversary, organised by the Oodua Peoples Congress, at the Excellence Hotel in the Ikeja area of Lagos State, Aareonakakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, has expressed that Nigeria is at war with itself because “a section” of the country consistently betrays the all citizens.

He also said the late MKO Abiola “will never be happy in his grave that the democracy he lived and died for has turn out to be autocratic in nature and practice”, according to a statement by his media aide, Kehinde Aderemi.

The statement was titled, ‘June 12:Abiola will not be happy in his grave that this democracy turns autocratic- Gani Adams’.

He also criticised the Federal Government for banning micro-blogging site Twitter saying it is an attempt to gag the press and stifle freedom of expression.
