According to the Cable, Billionaire industrialist and President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has revealed that he has made firm arrangements to ensure that a significant portion of his wealth will be dedicated to philanthropy after his death. Dangote disclosed that 25 percent of his entire fortune has already been allocated to the Dangote Foundation, reinforcing his long-standing commitment to social impact and humanitarian development.

Speaking during a public engagement, Dangote said the decision was carefully planned and documented, stressing that wealth should outlive its owner in the form of positive contributions to society. According to him, the foundation will continue to serve as a vehicle for addressing some of Africa’s most pressing challenges long after he is gone.

“In the event of my death, I have already arranged that 25 percent of my wealth will go to my foundation,” Dangote stated. “This is to ensure that the work we are doing in health, education, and poverty reduction does not stop.”

The Dangote Foundation has played a major role in philanthropic activities across Nigeria and the African continent. Its initiatives span healthcare interventions, including support for disease control programs, nutrition projects aimed at reducing child malnutrition, educational scholarships, and emergency relief for displaced persons affected by conflict or natural disasters.

Dangote explained that beyond donating money, he has focused on building strong institutional structures to ensure transparency, accountability, and sustainability within the foundation. He noted that governance systems are already in place to manage the funds responsibly and maximize long-term impact.
