Hon. Ojo Taiwo Emerges APC Consensus Candidate for Ido/Osi Constituency I

Hon. Ojo Taiwo Adeolu has been endorsed by the leaders of the All Progressives Congress as the consensus candidate to represent IdoOsi Constituency I.

The endorsement was reached during a meeting held at the APC Secretariat in Ido-Ekiti, where several party leaders and stakeholders from the constituency gathered to deliberate on the matter.

Among those present at the meeting were the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Niyi Adebayo; National Ex-Officio, Hon. Mrs. Bunmi Oriniowo; the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Bimpe Aderiye; the Chairman of Isokan LCDA, Mr. Ogundaisi; and the Chairman of Ido/Osi Local Government, Hon. Dele Omoleye.

Other party leaders in attendance included the Local Government Party Chairman, Hon. Adewumi; Hon. Gbenga Agbeyo; Hon. Abiodun Fawekun; Hon. Omoniyi Ajaja; Hon. Moshood Lawal, popularly known as Bamaiyi; Hon. Tunde Aladegbami; the Chairmanship candidate for Isokan LCDA, Hon. Akinola Falana, alongside ward chairmen and other party stakeholders.

While moving the motion for the adoption of Hon. Ojo Taiwo as the party’s candidate, the Chairman of Ifaki Ward I, Mr. Busuyi Awosemo, said party members and constituents were satisfied with the choice, noting that the aspirant had shown long-standing commitment to progressive ideals in the local government.

The motion was subsequently seconded by stakeholders from across the constituency, who expressed support for the decision.

Speaking at the meeting, the Chief of Staff, Hon. Niyi Adebayo commended party leaders for the peaceful conduct of the process and the unity demonstrated during the endorsement.

He said the acceptance of the consensus candidate reflected the spirit of cooperation among party members in the constituency, adding that such an approach had always been part of the progressive tradition of selecting candidates through consensus.

Adebayo also appealed to other aspirants who might feel disappointed to remain patient and continue to support the party, assuring them that opportunities would come in the future.

He further called on members and supporters of the party to begin preparations ahead of the forthcoming governorship election, urging them to mobilise both party members and voters within the constituency

According to him, the task of ensuring victory for the party requires the collective effort of all members and supporters.

Several other leaders who spoke at the meeting said the enthusiasm among participants reflected the wide acceptance of Hon. Ojo Taiwo as the party’s consensus candidate.

In his response, Hon. Ojo Taiwo expressed appreciation to the party leaders and stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him.

He also thanked the governor and the party leadership for the opportunity, promising to work diligently for the progress of the constituency and support efforts aimed at the development of the state.
