13 Years After Death: Best Friend Narrates How Late Super Eagles midfielder, Thompson Oliha’s Family Squandered His Properties

Thompson Oliha was a highly celebrated Nigerian professional footballer who played as a midfielder for the Super Eagles. He was a key member of the legendary 1994 Nigerian squad that won the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Tunisia and played in the 1994 FIFA World Cup in the USA.
Known for his physical presence in the air and powerful shooting abilities, Oliha’s club career spanned across Africa and Europe, featuring stints with Bendel Insurance, Iwuanyanwu Nationale, Africa Sports, Ironi Ashdod, and Antalyaspor. He made 31 international appearances for Nigeria and scored two goals before a serious knee injury forced him to retire at the age of 27. After retiring, he transitioned into coaching, ultimately becoming an assistant coach at the Kwara Football Academy.
His best friend Teddy, who lives in Italy, narrated the truth behind Oliha’s death and properties.
“For the 8 years that Oliha was living in Kwara, none of his brothers and sisters visited him. They only came two days after he died.
His first ex-girlfriend, Ajara, who gave birth to his son, and his siblings have been fighting with Aris, the woman who gave birth to his daughter.
“When I visited Nigeria from Italy, I saw that Oliha was dying. I called our friends to come and help, but they refused thinking it was a joke. But when he died, they started calling.
Oliha personally introduced Aris as his legally married wife and not Ajara, but his siblings did not want to accept her and instead preferred Ajara.
Oliha’s siblings and Ajara have been mismanaging the funds coming from his properties, while Aris and her daughter have not been benefiting from them.
“I am fighting them over the maltreatment of Aris and her daughter.
I gave instructions to Oliha’s larger royal family in Benin to hold on to the documents until the daughter turns 18 years old.
Thompson Oliha’s brothers and sisters are evil. They are in serious battle with me, they are the ones afraid of me.
Oliha is my childhood friend. I know all their family history from A to Z.”
Also, I remember in the academy when Oliha told me:
“My family were stealing from me when I was a professional footballer.”
Thompson Oliha, the Super Eagles combative midfielder, lived depressed and abandoned by his brothers and sisters while he was alive.
He won the AFCON in 1994 and represented Nigeria at the 1994 FIFA World Cup before his death at the age of 44 in Ilorin, Kwara State, in 2013.
