In a remarkable honour to the talented music act Davido, the city of Houston has officially declared every July 7th as ‘Davido Day.’

The honor comes in recognition of Davido‘s significant contributions to the music industry and his recent electrifying performance at the Toyota Center, Houston.

Following a sold-out show that left the city pulsating with energy, Mayor Sylvester Turner signed the declaration, praising Davido for his outstanding talent, global impact, and dedication to his craft. The singer, who is currently on tour promoting his new album, enthralled fans in Houston with a show that shut down the city and left a lasting impression on attendees.

The designation of ‘Davido Day’ aligns Houston with other cities that have honored prominent artists for their remarkable achievements.

This however has made July 7 a significant day in Davido’s life. Apart from the recognition accorded him by the city of Houston, Davido also has an important assignment waiting for him in Nigeria on this particular day.

For being a member of Neo Black Movement (NBM), a cult group also known as Black Axe, Aye in Nigeria, the group celebrate their annual anniversary every July 7.

Davido as a top member we gathered also play important role every July 7th, when the group from all over the country converge to celebrate.

Research reveals that NBM was started by nine undergraduate students from Nigeria on July 7 1977, the reason why ‘7’ as a number is important in the life of any member and every July 7 remains the founding anniversary.

Burna Boy, Oritshefemi and other prominent Nigerian artistes are members of this cult group.
