The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially moved the headquarters of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) from Abuja to Lagos.

The decision, announced by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, through a memo dated January 15, 2024, and signed by the Managing Director of FAAN, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, is aimed at potentially streamlining decision-making processes, reducing administrative red tape, and enhancing the overall efficiency of air travel management in the country.

The memo directs the relocation of FAAN’s headquarters from Abuja to Lagos, and officials are requested to provide an analysis of the implications of this move on the management of the organisation.

This decision aligns with the government’s strategy to optimise the operations of key agencies responsible for air travel and airport management in Nigeria.

The memo reads: “The Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development has directed that the Headquarters of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) should be relocated from Abuja to Lagos.

“Consequent upon the above, you are requested to provide the implication of the relocation to the management.”
