Nigerian fast-rising singer Ayra Starr has revealed why she cannot buy designer bags.
The ‘Sabi’ crooner stated that despite being able to afford them, she cannot buy them because of her mother.
She explained that whenever she tried to get such, her mother would ask her why she wanted to spend that much on a bag.
Speaking during an interview shared on Instagram, Ayra Starr said: “There’s this bag I want and it’s not that I can’t afford it, it’s just that, my mum, I can’t try it.
“I want to be able to get to the point where she doesn’t care about what I spend.”
The singer added that her mother still calls to check on her when she goes for shows to check on her and confirms if she has left the venue from her manager.
Ayra Star was recently scolded by Nigerians for extending hand to greet renowned and legendary musician, King Sunny Ade which many critics see as a sign of disrespect but the 21-year old singer later apologized for this negligence.
