Chairman of the African Democratic Party (ADC) Manifesto Drafting Committee, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, In a recent interview with a national newspaper expressed his thoughts on the recent movements of politicians into the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that he was very pleased with the way many leaders have joined the ruling party.

‎He pointed out that virtually all the governors have now aligned with the APC, according to him, this migration of politicians started in one of the states, possibly Delta.

‎The trigger, he explained, was a warning from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged fraud of N1 trillion and noted that the entire Delta PDP moved into the APC within a month.

‎He described this movement as the beginning of a continuous flow, with more leaders and political actors joining the party over time and reflected on how the process seems unending.

‎He said it shows how fluid Nigerian politics has become, with politicians moving quickly to align themselves with those in power, the transition of key political figures, he added, has reshaped the political landscape significantly.

‎Oyegun suggested that the unbroken line of politicians joining the APC could influence the balance of power in upcoming elections, the movement, he noted, is not just about numbers but also about the concentration of experience and influence under one party.

‎”I want to confess to you, we are very pleased. We in ADC are very pleased that virtually all the governors have transited into the APC. You know how it started? I think Delta or somewhere, one of these states, had this thing from the red flag from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC),” he said.
