Following his appointment as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria by President Bola Tinubu on Friday, It is obvious that many people especially the young generation don’t really know much about Olayemi Michael Cardoso.

Here are some facts you might need to know about him

– He was the Commissioner for Lagos State Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget during the administration of Tinubu as governor of Lagos.

– He served as the former chairman of Citibank Nigeria.

– Cardoso is a Nigerian banker, chartered stockbroker and public policy maker.

– The new CBN Governor is a member of the advisory board of Lagos Business School.

– He has a Master’s degree from the Harvard Kennedy School in public administration.

– Cardoso was a member of the Cities Alliance’s Africa Think Tank Group, a group created to solve urban development challenges.
