US President Donald Trump said Iran has “lost everything” and American forces launching a ground invasion of Tehran would be a “waste of time”, after he poured cold water on hopes of a diplomatic way out of the war.

In his latest comments to NBC News, Trump said the pace and intensity of US strikes will continue and his goal was to “go in and clean out everything” for a new leader of Iran.

Speaking at the White House, the president boasted that the US “continues to totally demolish the enemy far ahead of schedule and at levels that people have never seen before”.

Trump said Iran was still pursuing diplomatic avenues to end the war, but the US was not interested in making a deal.

It comes as Pete Hegseth said the “firepower over Iran” is about to expand dramatically and that the US has been striking Iranian drone and missile systems “every single hour”.

Meanwhile, the first flight evacuating British nationals stranded in the Middle East landed at London’s Stansted airport after departing Oman nearly a day late.

IDF said it has launched a “wave of airstrikes targeting Hezbollah” in Beirut’s southern suburbs.
