The Former Secretary of the CDS Action Committee on Hostages, Professor Usman Yusuf, has disclosed that the senate president of Nigeria, Godswill Akpabio got money for construction of streetlights for his Constituency projects and one of the streetlights was budgeted to cost around N190 million.
Professor Usman Yusuf made this statement during an interview with some journalists on Arise Television. During the interview, professor Usman Yusuf said, “the senate president, senator Akpabio, is the most disgraceful I have ever seen. N21 billion was given to your constituency. Solar streetlights was selling on the budget for over N190 million and boreholes was over N180 million each.”
“If this is not corruption then what is? At the time our people are dying of hunger, at the time our children are being diagnosed kwashiorkor, at a time patients are abandoning their medications because they cannot afford it, our representatives are feeding fat on our common wealth.”
