Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has dismissed 30 special advisers as part of plans to reorganize his administration.
The decision was announced by the governor during his first State Executive Council meeting with newly sworn-in commissioners at the Government House in Minna.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Bologi Ibrahim, said the move was aimed at restructuring governance in the state.
According to him, the affected advisers were removed to allow the governor “rejig and reposition” government responsibilities in order to make them more effective and efficient, in line with his “New Niger agenda.”
Bologi added that Governor Bago appreciated the aides for their sacrifices and contributions to the administration, and wished them success in their future pursuits.
