Bishop and General Overseer of the Living Faith Church (aka Winners Chapel) David Oyedepo while delivering a sermon titled “Overcoming Your Worst Unnoticed Enemy” during his Apostolic Visitation to Winners Chapel Jahi, Abuja, where he discussed God’s plan for prosperity reflects on his own journey.
The renowned Bishop who became significant with his inspirational and motivational speaking on prosperity emphasized that his financial blessings stemmed from understanding God’s plan for prosperity, rather than engaging in games or misappropriating church funds.
He affirmed, “A dime of your Church money is not in my pocket. I was living the reality of a highly prosperous future having discovered and committed to what He says makes it happen.”
Bishop Oyedepo then urged believers not to passively wait for change but to actively embrace the terms of the covenant outlined in Scriptures. He stressed, “Never sit down expecting a change. Engage the terms of the covenant of life as contained in Scriptures and then your change will keep coming.”
He further clarified that faith is not merely generated by hearing the Word but by deeply grasping its spiritual significance. He stated, “Please understand, it’s not hearing the Word that stirs faith but spiritual understanding of what you hear, what you read, what you study is what stirs faith.”
In his quest for Kingdom prosperity secrets, Bishop Oyedepo turned to resources by Kenneth Copeland and his wife Gloria, emphasizing the value of repeated study.
Despite multiple readings, he emphasized the need for spiritual understanding as the catalyst for faith, stating, “So spiritual understanding is the birthplace of faith. That’s the production factory of faith. Spiritual understanding of the truth is what triggers faith in a believer’s life.”
