Former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-rufai, on Friday, visited Abdul Ningi, the lawmaker representing Bauchi central district in the senate.

The ex-governor visited the senator at his residence in Abuja, the nation’s capital. The motive of the visit was not immediately known.

The visit comes days after the senate suspended Ningi for three months over the claim that the 2024 budget was padded by N3 trillion.

Lately, el-Rufai has been making visitations to political figures in the country, including those in the opposition parties.

On Thursday, he visited the headquarters of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Abuja.

According to a source privy to the meeting, SDP Chairman, Sheu Musa Gabam described El-Rufa’i as a friend with a high political pedigree and added that Nigeria needed transformational leaders like him.

The source further added that Gabam appreciated his guest and his entourage for the visit, saying that, “it’s time for all stakeholders in the country to put aside ethnic, regional and political differences to move the country forward more especially at this period when the country is facing serious challenges ranging from hunger, insecurity, joblessness, kidnapping, inflation among others.”

However,  observers have been reading political meanings to the visits which according to an analyst might not be unconnected to the purported 2027 mega party arrangement.
