With speculative narratives being peddled by certain aspirants regarding alleged efforts to persuade Engr . Dipo Bamisaye to step down or submit to any form of consensus arrangement,
Team Dipo Bamisaye has called on the good people and party faithful across the Ekiti North Senatorial District to disregard the growing insinuations.
“We wish to state unequivocally that Engr Dipo Bamisaye remains firmly in the race. His aspiration is rooted in the genuine call of the people and the collective resolve of committed stakeholders who believe in his leadership capacity, political experience, and dedication to the advancement of Ekiti North.
Any individual or group currently moving from one corner to another canvassing for a “consensus arrangement” should be prepared to face the democratic reality of a direct primary election, as clearly provided for in the Electoral Act 2026.
Democracy thrives on the will of the people, and the field must remain open for a transparent and credible contest.
We therefore urge all loyal supporters, party members, and well-wishers across the five local government areas of the district to intensify grassroots mobilization. The time has come to consolidate our structures at the ward and polling unit levels so that victory can be secured convincingly when the moment of decision arrives.
It is instructive that the principle of political karma is gradually unfolding. Those who, in the past, disregarded the wise counsel of respected leaders not to challenge Senator Adetunmbi are today seen moving around appealing to influential figures to intervene and speak to Engr. Dipo Bamisaye. As the saying goes, one inevitably reaps the harvest of the seeds one sows. The group
Eight years ago, Engr. Dipo Bamisaye consulted widely with party leaders and stakeholders regarding his aspiration. In the spirit of party unity and respect for leadership, he was prevailed upon to step down, and he honourably complied.
Similarly, four years ago, the same leaders once again appealed to him to step aside for the collective interest of the party. Demonstrating loyalty, discipline, and deep respect for the party structure, while someone disobeyed them, Engr. Bamisaye again honoured their request.
Today, however, the elders and stakeholders are convinced that the time has come to acknowledge the sacrifices, loyalty, and patience he has consistently demonstrated over the years. Leadership is built on commitment, trust, and endurance, and Engr. Dipo Bamisaye has shown all three.
It is therefore clear that those who have patiently stood by the party, respected its leadership, and made sacrifices for its progress are indeed the leaders of today.
