Former Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, has dismissed comments made by the erstwhile Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, that ex-presidential candidate Peter Obi is the life of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

He argued that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Obi, and ex-Minister Rotimi Amaechi will support whoever emerges as the ADC presidential candidate.

Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television, Tambuwal argued that the ADC coalition plans on having a very transparent primary.

He said, “I have been part of the coalition, and there is the possibility of transitioning to ADC. I’m consulting our stakeholders in Sokoto and other stakeholders across the country for us to conclude on that.

“However, I don’t join issues with Ayo Fayose, I have said so before and I still stand by what I have said.

“I believe that the leadership of the ADC from the very foundation, from what we have been discussing, agreed to have a very transparent primary election and if we have it, all of us in the coalition will support that candidate.

“Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi, we will all support, I have been playing a major role in the coalition and it will be too insensitive for me to come out right now to say vote based on this or that.”
