INEC Begins Upload Of Ekiti Gov Election Results On IReV

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commen youced the upload of polling unit results from the Ekiti State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV), after the official close of voting.

As of 9:30p.m., the commission had uploaded 2128 results out of the 2,445 expected polling unit results, representing 83.07 per cent of the total.

The uploads followed the conclusion of voting, sorting and counting of ballots in many polling units across the state.

A review of the IReV portal showed substantial progress in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area, where results from most polling units had been uploaded. Iyin I and Iyin II wards recorded the highest number of uploaded results, with 20 of their 23 and 21 polling unit results respectively available on the portal.

Igbemo Ward had 19 of its 21 polling unit results uploaded, while Iworoko recorded 16 of 22. In Igede II, 14 of 15 polling unit results had been uploaded, while Igede I had 13 of 15 results on the portal.

Other wards with uploaded results included Are Ward 02, with 9 of 10 polling unit results uploaded; Igede III, 9 of 11; Afao, 6 of 8; Iropora/Esure/Eyio, 9 of 16; and Awo, 8 of 12 polling unit results.

Voting ended in many polling units across Ekiti State before 3 p.m., after which election officials commenced the sorting and counting of ballots.

Residents turned out on Saturday to cast their votes in the election conducted by INEC across the state’s 16 local government areas
