FCT Minister Nyesom Wike on Wednesday accused select All Progressives Congress governors of working against him ahead of 2027, while vowing to ensure President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.
Speaking during his monthly media chat in Port Harcourt, Wike singled out Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, alleging they were more interested in optics than actual political work for Tinubu.
According to a report by _Nigerian Tribune_ on September 2, 2026, Wike confirmed AbdulRazaq was leading a campaign against him over claims that he was sponsoring candidates in Kwara.
The minister said the recent loss of three senators and a House of Reps member from the APC in Kwara had put AbdulRazaq in a difficult position ahead of 2027.
“I won’t make that mistake of sleeping and seeing the President lose his election. No,” Wike declared.
He warned that defections to opposition parties like the ADC could hurt Tinubu’s chances, while those who remain loyal would strengthen the President’s bid.
