GOMEP Appoints Otiti, Uba Acting President, National Secretary

Publisher of AjAZIRAL Report Newspaper, Comrade Otiti, and Comrade Uba of News Mirror, were on Saturday appointed to pilot the affairs of the Guild of Online Media Editors and Publishers of Nigeria (GOMEP) as National President and National Secretary respectively.

The acting National President and the National Secretary are to steer the activities of the newly registered national body.

The organisation, registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission CAC, under Registration No. 9442173, said the leadership arrangement is interim and will last for six months, pending the conduct of a proper national election.

In a statement following their emergence, the acting leadership noted that the Guild is committed to promoting professionalism, unity, and ethical standards among online media practitioners across Nigeria.

The leadership further emphasized that membership of the Guild is open to all eligible and qualified online media editors and publishers nationwide, urging practitioners to join the organisation in building a credible and unified online media platform.

The Guild also assured members of transparent leadership and inclusive participation as preparations commence for the forthcoming national elections.

However, Comrade Otiti who was appointed national President and National Secretary, President Clinton Uba are both seasoned journalists with many years experiences. Both have promised to be transparent in their dealings for the six months towards a successful transition and also vowed to work for the collective responsibilities the members.
