Man-U Captain, Bruno Fernandes Eulogizes Manager, Pep Guardiola For His Impact

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has praised Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and the impact that the Spaniard has had in his legendary career.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been widely hailed as one of the best coaches of all time after his prolific spells in Spain, Germany and England.
Guardiola oversaw incredible success during his time at Barcelona, which included lifting three La Liga titles, two Champions League trophies and two Copa del Reys.
The 53-year-old’s two aforementioned Champions League wins came after beating Manchester United teams managed by legendary former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Guardiola left the Camp Nou in 2012 and became Bayern Munich manager in 2013, with the Spaniard lifting three consecutive Bundesliga titles and two German Cups.
The former Bayern and Barcelona boss arrived at the Etihad in 2016 and has had a long-lasting impact in the Premier League in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.
United’s crosstown rivals have lifted five Premier League titles under City head coach Guardiola, including both a continental treble and a domestic treble.
During the 2017-18 season, Guardiola led City to a whopping 100-point total en route to the Premier League title, with United finishing 19 points behind in second.
Bruno Fernandes has become all too familiar with Manchester City’s Premier League dominance since his £47m move from Sporting CP in 2020.
The 29-year-old Manchester United star watched his side suffer a crushing 3-0 Premier League defeat to City at Old Trafford last October.
The Red Devils were also beaten 3-1 at the Etihad earlier this month, despite Marcus Rashford opening the scoring inside 10 minutes in the Manchester derby.
Fernandes and Co could come up against Pep Guardiola’s men again later this season if United and City both reach the FA Cup final.
The United midfielder has now admitted that Guardiola is the “best coach in the world” and “probably” the manager who has changed football the most.
Speaking to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, Fernandes said: “We are talking about the best coach in the world, without a shadow of a doubt.
“In recent years, he has been the best coach in the world.
“He is probably the coach who most changed the game of football. Nowadays, everyone wants to be Guardiola, there’s no need to hide that.
“All teams, from the second to the first divisions, everyone tries to play like City and everyone tries to find the dynamics that City has because they have results and success.
“For me, having praise from a coach like Guardiola is something spectacular, because, as I said, we are talking about a coach that I really appreciate and who, for me, today, is the best coach in the world.”
Fernandes was heavily linked with City before he moved to United, although Guardiola previously suggested that his side were not in the race to sign him.
Guardiola has been a big admirer of Fernandes and praised the Portugal midfielder ahead of his side’s 3-1 Premier League win against United at the Etihad.
The City boss called Fernandes an “exceptional” player and raved about his consistency, adding that he is “really important” for United.
“He is an exceptional player,” Guardiola said ahead of the derby.
“Especially the consistency to play in every single game and in every single competition.
“I admire him a lot for that. He is a guy that when he has the ball, something is going to happen.
“In set pieces, in connections with players up front with [Alejandro] Garnacho, with Rashford, all the strikers they have up there.
“What can I say, he is a really, really important player.”
