N40bn Saga: EFCC Denies Raiding Tinubu’s Home

Contrary to the wild spread rumour that Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) visited and raided All Progressives Congress Presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s home the agency has debunked the rumours.

The EFCC in a clear terms said it did not raid Tinubu’s house and did not recover any money.

There has been a fake news which has gone viral that the agency recovered N40 billion in Tinubu’s house.

In a Statement by EFCC Head , Media and Publicity, Mr. Wilson Uwujarem, he said that,” the attention of the EFCC, has been drawn to a report circulating in the social media, claiming that operatives of the Commission raided the home of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, standard-bearer of the APC, in the forthcoming presidential elections and recovered a humongous sum of N400billion.

However, the Commission wishes to state that no such operation was carried out by the EFCC. The public is enjoined to disregard the report as fake news”.
