JUST IN: Suspended Lagos traditional ruler Bags 15-year Jail Term
Deposed Baale of Shangisha in the Magodo area of Lagos, Mutiu Ogundare on Tuesday has been sentenced to a 15-year jail term by an Ikeja High Court
The traditional ruler was charged with faking his kidnapping and breaching of peace.
Recall that the former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode on July 13, 2022, suspended the Baale over a kidnap incident.
After five years, Justice Hakeem Oshodi, on Tuesday, sentenced Ogundare, having convicted him of a two-count bordering on breach of peace in the state and fake kidnapping.
Also jailed for the same prison term was his brother, Opeyemi Mohammed.
The court, however, set his wife Abolanle, free, having earlier absolved her of the charges earlier leveled against her.
