Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka Reveals What He Told Obi Before Presidential Election

Prof. Wole Soyinka has revealed what he told Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi before the last presidential election in Nigeria.
The Nobel Laureate revealed in a statement to express disappointment how his interview with Channels TV was taken out of context and sliced into new ones by media organisations.
He said he had always rejected fascism, saying on three occasions, he was able to send a message to Obi that if he lost the presidential election, it would be his followers who lost it for him.
Soyinka said it was so depressing to watch his lieutenant, a crucially positioned voice of a movement that has “broken the mould”, threatened the totality of social existence.
In his words: “My rejection of fascism is nothing new. On three occasions, I was able to send a message to Peter Obi that, if he lost the election, it would be his followers who lost it for him.

“My critique of incipient fascism in the movement remains grounded in indisputable evidence. Throughout the interview, I continued to stress that the final word had yet to be pronounced on the elections – that omission renders the full message tendentious!”
