Popular Entertainment Guru, MC Morris Talks About His Career As He Stages Another Birthday Celebration

Just as he usually did every 7th of March, it’s another birthday celebration for
Morris Ekong  Babatunde Jackson Popularly known as MC MORRIS.

Morris Shinehead as some prefer to call him is the CEO of Gbedu Awards, the annual celebrity award that honours entertainers in the music industry.

MC Morris, a graduate of Computer Management from the University of Lagos have been in the Music/Entertainment industry for over two decades now. This dexterous entertainment impresario is no doubt an outstanding musical artiste and artiste manager in Nigeria right from the early 2000.

“I have featured popular Nigerian artistes in my songs, like Daddy Fresh, Jazzman Olofin during my exploit in music. I decided to go into broadcasting in the electronic media and I moved from that to events management.

“I can confidently say I was one of the people that started celebrating Fela Anikulapo Kuti by bringing popular artistes to the NEW AFRICAN SHRINE… Before it evolved to what we now know as FELABRATION. I have done a lot of great events both in Nigeria and Ghana and have also managed a lot of great artistes and Record Labels in both countries. I managed the likes of Jim Iyke when he started his career as a music artiste, Daddy Fresh Eddy Remedies, Mallam Spicey, Bollie from Ghana  of You May Kiss The Bride fame just to mention a few.”

Versatile MC Morris is also the Managing Director of Labour Research And Training Services. He has been involved in a lot of PR work with a lot of organizations, personalities, government officials.

“As the CEO of Gbedu Awards, which was at one time the biggest Music awards in Nigeria, we have honoured many greats talents in the music till date across Africa even America and Europe and we are working to rebrand the award.”

Morris is presently working on a Music Festival Project that will develop the music industry in Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa and this will come up in January 2025.

“It will be an annual project that will rotate within the three countries(Nigeria Ghana and  South Africa.) A lot of artistes from these three countries will perform on same stage.
We have plans to set up symposiums in the three countries when the project kicks up to educate the artistes, music industry  managers and develop their minds on their chosen careers and also  open them to great ideas to develop the Africa Music Industry. I Morris Jackson is a developed mind prepared for challenges and ready to conquer any obstacles. My vision is to  help in developing humanity and make the world a better place for us all.” He concluded.

However, his birthday is holding on Sunday, 7th April.
