Wife of late singer, Wunmi Aloba has come out to further say what she knew about the relationship between Naira Marley and her late husband, Mohbad.
In this revelation, Wunmi narrated how she met Naira Marley through Mohbad and how the late artiste left the Marlian Record without a penny.
“I met Naira Marley through Mohbad. They used different means to threaten and harm him and he left Marlian records with zero account.
Wunmi also in her testimony told the court how Mohbad joined Marlian records and the events around his fallout with the label.
Wunmi revealed that she met Mohbad when she was in the Secondary school. She was a rapper and Mohbad was a rapper at the time as well. Mohbad had jumped on a popular challenge on social media pioneered by BaddyOsha and he won. So he had started doing well for himself before he joined Marlian records.
“One day he told me that Naira Marley sent him a message on Instagram to come see him. I advised him to only feature Naira Marley on one song, and not sign a record deal with him but Mohbad said signing will help his career,” Wunmi testified.
Wunmi noted that she didn’t know Naira Marley until Mohbad started to talk about him and he was trending at the time. Things however started going in a downward spiral when they didn’t allow Mohbad to change his manager who is Naira Marley’s cousin, Tunde.
Mohbad wanted to change him because he wasn’t doing anything. However, Naira Marley said they are the ones that will choose his manager.
“He started receiving different threats from his oppre§§or and by 2022, when he left the label, he wasn’t stable again. He left with zero account. He didn’t have anything to start again and he started struggling to survive. Bella Shmurda fed us for three months when the issue happened as things were hard,” Wunmi said.
She revealed to the court how ‘Mohabd’s oppressors’ deployed different means to threaten him.
She noted that Mohbad tried to reach out to some artistes but they never responded to him as they didn’t want to be related with him, except Olajide and Bella Shmurda. She said his ‘oppressors’ paid anyone to harm him and he lived in fear till he died.
