EFCC Apprehends Notorious ‘Yahoo Boy’, Young Billionaire, Seizes Luxury Cars And Homes.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 35-year-old Hyginus Nkwocha in Abuja on charges of internet fraud and money laundering. Nkwocha, who has been labeled a ‘young billionaire,’ was detained at Ever Green Estate, located behind Millennium Estate in Lugbe, Abuja, following intelligence reports linking him to fraudulent activities.

During the operation, the EFCC seized various items from Nkwocha, including $2,200 in cash, an iPhone 15 Pro Max, a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, an iPhone 13 Pro Max, a MacBook, and several pieces of gold jewelry. Additionally, vehicles such as a Mercedes Benz ML 350, a Chevrolet Camaro, and a Mustang were confiscated.

The EFCC also recovered properties from several locations: Cookies Court 2 in Ocean Palm Estate, Ajah, Lagos; Unit C8 on Lugbe Airport Road, Abuja; and Cookies Court 2, 2nd Avenue, Ocean Palm Estate, Ogombo, Lagos State.

This arrest and the subsequent recovery of assets are part of the EFCC’s ongoing campaign against internet fraud and money laundering in Nigeria. Dele Oyewale, the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, confirmed that Nkwocha will be charged in court once the investigation is completed.
