Former Governor of Ekiti State and the flagbearer of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, for the June 18 poll, Chief Segun Oni has said that he is not dissuaded by the attack on his convoy two days ago by suspected hoodlums, while at a political function in Efon Alaaye Local Government of the State.
Speaking with newsmen in Lagos on Thursday, Oni said the incident is a challenge to Governor Kayode Fayemi who is expected to have deployed his expertise in criminology to fight crime in the state.
He described thuggery and other crimes in Ekiti State as a product of poverty inflicted overtime on the people by previous governments.
The SDP Governorship candidate asserted that he has the support of mass majority of the electorate with the EKITI KOYA OTOGE mantra because they are tired of not getting the best of democratic dividends.
Chief Oni while noting that he is not a moneybag, assured that the electorate of good governance informed by deep and creative thinking, as he achieved during his first tenure in office, with evident Index ratings of renowned International Economic Organisations like the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP.
Mr Alex Kola Folorunso quoted the SDP Governorship candidate for the June 18 Ekiti election as commending the Independent National Electoral Commission for granting the request to extend the time for voter registration among other mobilisation efforts for the election.
