Popular music promoter and socialite, Balogun Eletu, widely known as Sam Larry, has been hospitalized in critical condition following a horrific, fatal auto crash in the early hours of Saturday, July 4, 2026.
The incident, which occurred along the newly constructed Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road axis in Lagos State, reportedly involved Sam Larry’s luxury vehicle and a heavy-duty trailer.
Preliminary reports indicate that Sam Larry’s vehicle rammed into the trailer with extreme force. Images and videos of the wreckage circulating rapidly across social media show the front section of the vehicle completely crushed and mangled beyond recognition.
Tragically, the impact claimed the life of Sam Larry’s close associate and bouncer, popularly identified as Wale (Wole). Emergency responders confirmed that Wale died on the spot from severe injuries sustained during the crash.
The entertainment scene was thrown into shock after prominent comedian and Master of Ceremonies, Mario Wazobia, took to Instagram to share pictures from the scene, calling on the public to intercede in prayers.
”More photos from the early morning accident involving socialite Sam Larry and his bouncer. Reports indicate the bouncer tragically lost his life at the scene while Sam Larry has been rushed to the hospital in critical condition. PRAY FOR SAMMYLARRY,” Wazobia posted.
Sam Larry remains under close medical monitoring at an undisclosed emergency facility. As of Sunday morning, neither his family nor his management team has released a formal press statement regarding his prognosis, and traffic authorities are still investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.
