A Babcock University’s certificate circulating online and allegedly linked to comedian and streamer Carter Efe has been denied and described as fraudulent by the management of the institution.

In a public statement released on Monday, the university said the purported “Honorary Certificate” claiming to award Oderohiwo Joseph Efe a “First Class Upper” did not originate from the institution.

The university clarified that it does not issue honorary certificates for undergraduate academic performance and has no degree classification known as “First Class Upper,” stating that its highest academic classification is First Class Honours.

Babcock urged members of the public, employers and other institutions to disregard the document and verify academic credentials through the Office of the Registrar.

The university also warned that it will pursue appropriate legal and criminal action against anyone found forging its certificates or unlawfully using its name.
