Father of music star, David Adeleke better known as Davido, took many by surprise when he donated N1 billion to the centenary Endowment Fund of the Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church.
He made the donation in honour of his late mother, Madam Esther Adeleke, at a thanksgiving service which held at the headquarters of the C&S Church in Lagos, on Sunday.
“On behalf of our late mother, senior mother in Israel, late Mrs Esther Adeleke, we want to contribute to the endowment fund, Centenary Endowment Fund. We are contributing the sum of N1 billion,” he said.
Governor Dapo Abidoun, who was among the dignitaries at the occasion, smiled as he commended head of the Adeleke dynasty for the gesture.
Davido, Governors Ademola Adeleke of Osun State and Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, also attended the event.
Deputy Baba Aladura Harold Demuren commended the Adeleke family for the donation.
