Dino Melaye Denies Rumour Of Atiku Retiring From politics, Aligning With Tinubu

Following the February 25th keenly contested Presidential election where Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu emerged winner, news has been spreading that the People’s Democratic Party candidate, Atiku Abubakar who came second in the election has decided to retire from active politics.
He’s rumoured to have agreed to align with the President-elect.

One of the spokespersons of the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Senator Dino Melaye, on Monday said reports that his principal is retiring from politics and joining hands with Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president-elect, is “a malicious lie”.

Melaye who totally quashed the rumours also vowed that the former vice-president would emerge Nigeria’s next leader.

“The malicious lie and propaganda going round that Atiku is retiring from politics and joining hand with Tinubu is a terrible lie from the pit of hell and should be disregarded.

“Light and darkness don’t relate.

“Nigerians should be rest assured that Atiku is coming very soon,” Melaye wrote on his known Twitter handle.

This newspaper reports that Atiku, 76, has contested unsuccessfully for the presidency five times.

The emerged runner-up in the last two editions of the general elections, flying the flag of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
